Writing and publishing a book can be a lot of effort. But what about an e-book? Electronic books have many advantages over physical books, which can make them a good choice for any aspiring writer or an influencer looking to build their credibility. Below are just a few great reasons to write an e-book.

You can self-publish them

It’s possible to publish an e-book yourself. This can save you a lot of money and give you more control over revenue from your book. There are lots of DIY publishing guides out there that can help you to do this.

Self-publishing does require a lot more effort and it’s important that you don’t skimp on the quality. For this reason, some people may still prefer to pay a publisher. There are all kinds of publishing companies out there including publishers like Nova Science Publishers, Inc. that cater to specific niches. Shop around to find the right publisher for you.

You don’t have to be a professional writer

The ability to self-publish an e-book means that you don’t have to be a professional writer. If you’ve got a subject that you’re passionate about, you can write a book on it without the fear that it will be rejected by a publisher for being poorly-written.

That said, it can still be beneficial to hire an editor so that you can iron out any mistakes. This will ensure that your book is still professional in tone so that readers are able to enjoy it.

It doesn’t have to be long

E-books don’t have to be long. In fact, they can be as short as 20 pages. This makes them ideal if you want to write a book, but you’re not sure you can fill 100 pages.

There’s a huge market for short fictional stories and short non-fictional guides. Many readers that don’t have much time or patience are attracted to short e-books. In other words, you’re likely to get a lot of readers by writing a short e-book (although there’s nothing to stop you writing a lengthy e-book either).

You can keep earning royalties

After publishing an e-book, you can keep receiving royalties for it every time someone buys it without having to worry about printing more copies.

Royalties on e-books can be worth more than that on physical books, resulting in the potential to make more money. Of course, you don’t have to make money from your e-book – some authors prefer to offer their books for free. Offering your book for free may help you to attract more readers.

You can establish yourself as an expert

A lot of entrepreneurs publish self-help and educational e-books as a way of establishing themselves as an expert in their field. Being able to tell your customers that you’ve written a book on a subject is enough to convince most people that you know what you’re talking about.

You may even be able to convert some readers into customers. If the content in your book is high-quality and useful, people may trust your expertise enough to use your services.
