Curtain up! Put out the Ghost Light. Live theatre is returning to Seattle at long last. The Paramount Theatre has announced their theatrical season starting in October. Whatever your taste it’s sure to be met with a mixture of classic and new musicals.
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR: October 19-24, 2021
It’s a classic for a reason. This rock musical made Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber a household name in America; you can celebrate or hate it for that reason alone, if it weren’t for the incredible score with sharp, intelligent lyrics by Tim Rice.
MEAN GIRLS: November 16 – 21, 2021

It’s totally Fetch! Everything that the hit movie brought to the screen translates to the stage with great songs. Clever lyrics and catchy music push the boundaries further as it becomes war on the ‘plastics’; those perfect people we all love to hate.
MY FAIR LADY: December 28, 2021 – January 02, 2022
Lincoln Center to high acclaim produced the classic Lerner and Loewe musical. This tour continues the beautiful transformation of a lowly flower girl into a perfect Lady.
THE BAND’S VISIT: March 08 – 13, 2022
The highly acclaimed and Tony nominated musical comes to Seattle. Nominated for 11 Tony Awards, the musical won 10 placing it as one-of-four-elite musicals (in Broadway history) to sweep wins in the major Tony Award categories: Best Musical, Best Book, Best Score, Best Actor in a Musical, Best Actress in a Musical, and Best Direction of a Musical. It also won the 2019 Grammy Award.
Season Option:
BEAUTIFUL, The Carol King Musical: April 8 – 10, 2022
The title says it all. This hit Tony Award winning musical uses the music of the legendary Carol King to tell her own story. Returning to Seattle by popular demand.
PRETTY WOMAN: June 7-12, 2022
An updated Pygmalion story except with well.. you know, a hooker. Based on the movie this musical has the music and lyrics written by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance.
HAMILTON: August 3 – September 11, 2022
Why should you see this when it is on film? While the filmed version is brilliant, there is nothing like seeing it on the live stage and being swept away by this powerful musical. Let your eye be drawn to the characters in the background, or the scenery instead of where a camera wants you to focus. See the show live and don’t throw away your shot.

It has been more than a long and tedious year for the theatre lovers of the world. While there have been many virtual performances to enjoy, there is nothing like being in the audience and watching a live Broadway production.
